Light of Maasai becomes a registered charity

Rombo is in the southern part of the Kenyan Rift Valley and borders Tanzania and the national parks Amboseli and Tsavo West. The total area is 523.9sq km and has a total population (according to the 1999 census) of 27,929 people made up of 5,489 households. The area is populated mostly by people from the Maasai tribe who live mostly off their animals. In the town areas, such as Rombo, Enterara and Elerai tribes are mixed, businesses are owned by tribes other than the Maasai.
The aims of Light of Maasai are to tackle issues such as:
- Education
- Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) / Early marriage
- Water
- Health Care
- Feeding Programs
